I recently reposted one of the first music videos I created back in 2014, of the original song called “The Haunting” on YouTube. I took it down several years ago, because it wasn’t to a professional level I would have liked it to be. This was the first song I released publicly. I felt there was a lot of things I still needed to learn about production and song writing. So I decided to recreate The Haunting with what I learned, then did it. I released the new version 10/14/2022 and called it “The Haunting (Last Ride)” to differentiate between the two songs. I plan to create a new music video for the new version in the future. I recently felt it was time to put the original video out again on YouTube.
A little history on how the song “The Haunting” originated.
At the time I was an acting coach for a haunt I used to work at. It was an out side setting, real trees, a wooded area, that had natural, and man made, (of course) tunnels, structures, buildings, etc. …. you get the idea. I was acting, and coaching many actors, how to play out there various roles in the different areas. It was probably the most fun I had at a job. My appearance and look on the original video, was a mix of several characters I played as an actor at the haunt.
I felt inspired to write and produce a song based on the vibe we were trying to create as actors. There were no murders, real monsters, or disappearances of course …. But that didn’t stop my imagination from roaming based on the many different scenes, characters, and experiences, they, and I had, to create and write the song and music, as well as the video itself.
So …. if you find your self wanting a little bit of a spooky sort of pick me up, or what ever your halloween, horror, spooky, fetish is.
You can find the original song “The Haunting” on my music page. It’s not on online stores currently for streaming. The new version “The Haunting (Last Ride) however is everywhere including on my music page with all my other releases enjoy.
